Utility Suit Canvas Art Print by David Wright
Utility Suit; by David Wright, showing a naked woman holding up a negligee. Wright produced a series of over 160 illustrations or pin-ups for The Sketch during the 1940s. David Wright's Lovelies proved hugely popular and adorned practically every military mess, bunker, dormitory or club room in the country during World War II.
The canvas pieces are created from the finest 100% Cotton artists canvas, which are sourced from some of the biggest international art suppliers, especially for you. And, as you would expect, our printing processes are bang up to date using the latest technology we can lay our hands on, with inks designed to remain colour-fast for hundreds of years.
We also like to avoid the unsightly lumps and bumps that framed canvas are susceptible to, so we use a rounded back edge which is designed to sit above the stretcher bar, thus leaving no ghost impressions on the canvas. Even our Museum Quality stretcher bars are made of the finest quality European kiln dried knotless pine, which has the advantage of being extremely hard wearing and immune to warping. Well that's a relief!
